The story of Einstein's brain theft!

Do you know which is the most popular equation in the world? The answer is E = mc ^ 2.Have you seen this formula anywhere before?I believe that whether you know the meaning of this formula or not, you have all seen this formula somewhere. Many may know who is the originator of this formula.

Scientist Albert Einstein introduced this universal formula in the middle of 1905.He was one of the most talented people of the twentieth century. So his brain was a big surprise to the common man.

Einstein's brain after death:

On April 17, 1955, Einstein passed away at Princeton Hospital in New Jersey. The nurse who was in charge of his service before his death did not know German.  That is why the last words spoken at the time of Einstein's death were never known!

Einstein wanted the normal cremation process to be performed in his case.Yet after his death, Dr. Thomas Harvey, a pathologist at Princeton Hospital, was given the task of determining the cause of Einstein's death.Although Dr. Harvey's job was to determine the cause of death, he made a decision without anyone's advice or permission. That decision has affected his life a thousandfold.

Out of curiosity or for whatever other reason, he did not want to lose the brain of a man so famous in the world. So within seven-and-a-half hours of Einstein's death, he removed Einstein's brain from his head! Dr. Harvey wasn’t brain specialist. He was just a pathologist.

The funny thing is that he did not calm down just by removing the brain! He also took out his two eyes! Which was handed over to Einstein's ophthalmologist, Dr. Henry Abrams, in a preservation jar.His pair of eyes are thought to still be stored in a safety lock in New York.

The operation was completely illegal because Dr. Harvey did not have permission to remove the brain from Einstein's family. So this work done by Dr. Harvey in different places has been called direct theft. But he was able to convince Einstein's family that he had not stolen the brain. He has taken out the brain for research in the interest of science!

Dr. Harvey was the first and last person to hold the most famous brain in history by hand.Because he first took some pictures from all angles of the whole brain and then divided the brain into 240 blocks! He later created more than a thousand slides from this block, keeping in mind the different parts of the brain. These slides are then boxed separately and sent to researchers around the world.

Normal Brain VS Einstein’s Brain:

Much research has been done to capitalize on the hypothesis that "Einstein's brain is different from normal human beings".And at the end of the research, the hypotheses have come true every time.Researchers around the world have studied the slides in Einstein's brain, and find that the differences between the brain of ordinary people and Einstein's brain are not easy to see.

 1. While the average IQ of a normal person is 90-110, Einstein's IQ was 180-190, which is much higher than that of a normal person. But the most surprising thing is that even though his IQ is much higher than a normal human, his brain size was smaller than the normal human brain.

While the average human brain weighs about 3 pounds or about 1400 grams, Einstein's brain weighs about 2.6 pounds or about 1225 grams! In fact, we often have the misconception that "more intelligent means a bigger brain", but this proves that brain size has nothing to do with intelligence or the ability to think.

 2. One of the most important internal differences is that the inferior parietal part of Einstein's brain (which controls human language and mathematical skills) is 15 percent larger than the normal human brain! Sylvian fissure, on the other hand, is the largest alveoli in the brain that was almost absent in Einstein's brain.

 3. The cerebral cortex of Einstein's brain was much thinner than the rest of the brain and the density of neurons in this thin part was much higher than normal.

 4.  The biggest difference that has taken Einstein's brain to a higher level than normal is that Einstein's brain is younger than it really is.That is, his brain behaves like the brains of people younger than his own age.On the other hand, the ratio of neurons and glial cells in Einstein's brain was compared to that of 11 people who died at the same age, and this ratio was found to be many times higher in Einstein's brain.

The current state of Einstein's brain;

 Dr. Harvey created a total of 5 box slides of Einstein's brain, of which the set slide is now in the National Museum of Health and Medicine in the United States. There are 46 slides in The Mütter Museum.

Dr. Harvey died in 2006,No one has the right answer to the question of why he got Einstein out of his brain. But we have to admit that a lot of information has been known about his work and people have shown interest in Einstein's brain. Many kinds of knowledge about our brains have grown, many new technologies have been discovered by that incident.
